The MLK Parade organizes hundreds of marchers to celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., while promoting unity, diversity, and social justice. This event is intended to educate, inspire, and commemorate the impact of Dr. King’s work and bring together organizations, residents, and visitors to honor his contributions to civil rights, equality, and justice. The MLK Parade has been a cherished tradition for the City of St. Petersburg for over thirty years, and it serves as a platform to showcase its commitment to equity, and the progress the city has made in the space of intentional equity. Annually, the Parade has been organized by a core group of community leaders, businesses, and nonprofit organizations. The 2026 MLK Parade will have the benefit of a much deeper commitment from the Mayor of St. Petersburg, and St. Petersburg City Council.
