Specifications include, but are not limited to: Escambia County completed a broadband feasibility study in 2020. As the next step to ensuring competitive, high-speed broadband for all homes and businesses in Escambia County, the County is seeking proposals for broadband engineering design, a broadband business and operations plan, and assistance with state and federal broadband funding. Escambia County is seeking to enter an engineering, architectural, and/or surveying services contract with a State of Florida registered engineer, architect, and/or surveyor. The purpose of this RFP is to procure services of a firm to provide engineering, business planning, and funding support service to address unserved and underserved broadband needs of businesses and residents in Escambia County. The County envisions a hybrid fiber/wireless network to meet these needs. Escambia County is seeking to contract with a Florida licensed engineering firm in the State of Florida with extensive experience in fiber and broadband design, consulting, business planning, and grant/loan development.
