Specifications include, but are not limited to: Wide Area Network (WAN) / Local Area Network (LAN) The City of North Miami Beachs network consists of 13 different locations. City Hall facility is the core of the network. The City Hall campus network consists of the City Hall, the Police Dept., Leisure Services, YES Center, and the Julius Littman Theatre. The locations on campus are connected by fiber and the off-campus locations are connected by either a T-1 or VPN connection via cable modem. Buildings that are on campus are connected using 1 Gbps Ethernet connection. The LAN at the all locations is either a 10/100 or 10/100/1000Tx LAN. The Police Dept. has their own Comcast connection to provide access to the internet to their staff. All Workstations connect to the network at 100/1000 Tx speeds. Servers are connected at 10/100/1000 Tx speeds. Multiple VLANs are used for network traffic segmentation and network security reasons. Internet (ISP) A 10 MB Down/3 MB up Comcast circuit provides internet access at the City Hall campus. Locations on campus use this ISP connection, but locations that connect over a Branch Office Virtual Private Network (BOVPN), access Internet via a local connection. City Hall provides logging and content filtering for those locations. Some of the smaller locations that have a BOVPN connection access the Internet via the City Hall connection. Where ever an Internet connection is present, a Watchguard firewall is used to provide perimeter protection. A Barracuda SSL VPN appliance that resides in the DMZ on the City Hall firewall is used to provide remote user VPN connectivity. The Citys website, www.citynmb.com, is hosted offsite with GovOffice
