The consultant will work under the direction of the Facilities Services, Planning and Project Management Department. The consultant’s specific scope of work will be defined by individual Project Assignments. Examples of the scope of services include (but are not limited to) the following: A. The consultant may perform educational planning analysis considering enrollment trends/projections and health and safety parameters. B. The consultant may analyze options (with respect to educational, strategic, financial, equity and operational considerations) for educational facilities such as: 1. Location and timing of classroom additions to accommodate growing enrollment 2. Location and timing of modifying educational facility use such as converting K-6 to K-8 facilities to accommodate growing and/or shifting enrollment 3. Location and timing of new schools to accommodate growing and/or shifting enrollment 4. Location and type of educational program options relative to geographic distribution, program utilization and other factors 5. Attendance boundary modifications to include expanding choice options 6. Long term planning for retiring functionally obsolete and/or underutilized buildings 7. Potential to repurpose or sell surplus District buildings 8. Innovative educational models from Pre-K through Adult Education
