Please note: This is a Sole Source Notification. The economic forecasts from IHS are an excellent resource that the EOG has used for decades to create economics forecasts for Florida. Not only does IHS Markit provide the data, but they also provide the EOG with Eviews, which is a statistical application that houses the data and allows us to create forecasts for many different tax sources as statutorily mandated. EOG's counterparts at the Legislative Office of Economic and Demographic also use the same data source. This allows the EOG to use the same data history in developing consensus forecasts. An alternative data source would severely hinder developing consensus economic forecasts with the Legislature. In addition to providing the data and the software, IHS Markit also provides commentary, news and analysis of economic conditions which help the EOG with policy analysis and development.
