The scope includes the preparation and completion of all necessary site work, the installation of asphalt court surfaces, and an ADA-compliant 6 feet in width concrete border to ensure accessibility. A high-quality acrylic surface coating will be applied in colors chosen by the project owner. This coating is intended to enhance player safety with its non-slip properties and to provide protection for the asphalt surface against weather and wear. Additional features include the construction of a concrete sidewalk approach to connect the new courts to an existing concrete walkway, installation of regulation-size basketball goals with heavy-duty bent posts and fiberglass fan-shaped backboards, and regulation striping for both courts. All materials furnished and all work performed shall be in accordance with the Drawings, Specifications and Bid Documents. The project will further require the installation of electrical connections and appropriate lighting to facilitate evening use, as well as a drainage system to manage water runoff effectively. Specifically, two 12-inch advanced drainage system culvert pipes (ADS) will be installed at designated locations to prevent flooding. Landscaping around the courts will be carried out to improve the site’s appearance and functionality. This project is part of a Standard State Grant Agreement, mandating compliance with specific grant terms and conditions throughout the planning, execution, and completion phases. The contractor shall comply with all federal, state and local regulations and will be responsible for ensuring all elements of the project meet applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and school zone regulations to deliver a safe, durable, and aesthetically pleasing facility.
