The purpose of this Request for Qualifications is to identify and hire the most highly qualified Construction Manager at Risk (“CMAR”) firm or entity to act as the CMAR for the former Liberty Medical Building Renovation Project (the “Project”) for St. Lucie County Facilities. The Project involves the renovation of the former Liberty Medical Building, located at 8881 S. US Highway 1, to serve as the new St. Lucie County Tax Collector’s Office and to house other County services, including without limitation, the Supervisor of Elections. The Tax Collector is an independent Constitutional Officer of the State of Florida, and as an additional end-user of the Project, shall have an active role in the major design and construction decisions, as partner to the County on this Project. The work will generally include, but is not limited to, interior demolition, reconfiguration of spaces for public service counters, administrative offices, conference rooms, and secure storage, as well as upgrades to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life-safety, and low-voltage systems. Work is also expected to include construction and fit-out of the second floor to accommodate additional public service and administrative functions. Site improvements, including parking, accessibility, landscaping, and signage, are also anticipated.
