FDOT is hosting Commercial Driver’s License training and testing programs as part of the Moving I-4 Forward project. The purpose of this program is to train and test individuals to attain their Class B Commercial Driver’s Licenses. The training is completed in 2-week sessions and includes a virtual Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) course, Behind the Wheel training and certified Behind the Wheel Testing. It also includes on site Commercial Learner’s Permit awards, Medical Card Examinations, and CDL license printing appropriately contracted and delivered by certified individuals. The training combines classroom learning with practical, hands-on experience to prepare participants to master the CDL Testing scheduled and provided on the last days of each session. Specific instruction will adhere to requirements for Commercial Drivers’ Licensure such as ELDT theory and knowledge course and Behind the Wheel training and testing by certified Florida testers. Highlights of the curriculum will include virtual instruction, videos, and hands-on application to real-world scenarios.
