Specifications include, but are not limited to: Polk County is soliciting bidders to provide meal catering services during emergency and/or disaster events to multiple locations throughout Polk County. The Bidder will provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for up to 2,160 meals per day during emergency/disaster events. When a hurricane or emergency/disaster event are projected or have occurred, the County operates their Emergency Operation Center (EOC) as well as several shelters around the county to accommodate citizens that may need or desire to evacuate their homes. Meals need to be delivered to the locations to feed individuals until the emergency/disaster event has ended. There may be times when a shelter(s) will need to stay open for additional days or weeks until citizens can safely return to their homes, therefore meals will need to be continued until such time. Currently, there are four (4) EOC and shelter locations which may require catering. However, Emergency Management reserves the right to add and/or change locations within Polk County as needed to best serve citizens. Bidders should bear this in mind when submitting.
