A. The work included consists of all supervision, labor, miscellaneous materials, and facilities required for the complete and approved Electrical Lighting Modifications related to the replacement of the sports lighting system and associated controls as indicated on the Owner provided Shop Drawings, Reports, and Specifications, or as may be reasonably implied by and for the installation of a complete Electrical System. B. All notes on the Shop Drawings pertaining to the work of this Trade shall be considered as part of this Specification and Contract. C. In general, the Electrical Contractor shall receive, store, assemble, install, and make final connections to equipment fixtures, etc. furnished by other trades or by Owner. D. Refer to entire set of Shop Drawings for coordination, demolition, and removal of fixtures. E. Contractor shall confirm existing circuits are capped or shutdown prior to excavation or demolition. F. It is the Contractor's responsibility to visit the job site to inspect and confirm field conditions and systems. Advise Consultant of inconsistencies prior to bidding (14 days minimum). G. The Contractor shall be responsible for the installation of complete and fully functional electrical systems consisting of the following: 1. Removal and proper disposal of existing and installation of replacement sports field lighting fixtures and associated support brackets, which will be furnished by the County’s vendor for all athletic fields/courts/courses of varying types and locations. The contractor shall furnish all labor and materials as required for the assembly of the lighting fixtures, brackets, wiring, raceways, etc. Contractor will be responsible for repairing broken concrete/asphalt or rutting of fields resulting from its work. Contractor shall be responsible for restoring all areas back to their original condition at the end of each workday, fields must be in playable condition for evening events. 2. Expansion of existing sports field lighting control systems, as furnished by the County’s vendor, shall be installed under this contract. Replacement of existing and installing new wiring and raceways shall be furnished and installed under this contract. 3. All newly installed fixtures shall be operational by the end of each workday. Any remaining old light fixtures that were unable to be replaced during that day’s work shall remain operational for that evening’s event. 4. At least (72) hours prior to construction kick-off meeting, contractor to furnish a complete project schedule, including total duration, sequencing of lights replacement per pole, anticipated power outages, Electrical Rooms work, workarounds, etc. 5. Contractor shall receive, off-load all fixtures and material, and store them as required to eliminate the possibility of lost or stolen material. If necessary, the electrical contractor shall furnish a lockable steel container protected from the environment to secure fixture assemblies and other materials. Contractor shall coordinate each field’s staging area for equipment, materials, and refuse during the respective preconstruction meeting as directed by the owner. 6. Furnish surge protective devices on all main power service gear, branch circuit panels serving the sports lighting, and equipment panels which feed the athletic field lighting. Miscellaneous branch circuit wiring and overcurrent protective devices are to be furnished and installed as required. Refer to the RFP for additional requirements. 7. Temporary electrical power and lighting shall be furnished, installed, and maintained as may be required for work, or in various locations throughout the building. 8. Patch and painting shall be specified in other Sections of these specifications (See "Painting" Section), except that all exposed raceways, fittings, boxes, supports, panelboards, etc., shall be prepared for painting, removing from them all oil, grease dirt, etc. 9. Miscellaneous items obviously required for a complete and operating systems, but not specifically called for on the drawings or in the specifications, shall be furnished by the Contractor at no extra cost to the Owner, including but not limited to access panels, nuts and bolts, masonry anchors, conduit and equipment supports, drilling, welding, scaffolding, lifting services, etc. 10. Contractor shall furnish support services for the lighting vendor’s lighting system. Obtaining voltage readings at each pole for confirmation of supply voltage to the fixture is considered such a task. 11. Conduit routing is not shown on the documents. It shall be the Contractor’s responsibility to field route all raceways and coordinate such routing with all disciplines to resolve any conflicts, as necessary to furnish the intended connections. It shall be assumed that the design was based on the shortest possible route. Where conduit or duct routing follows other than direct paths, the conductors and raceways shall be adjusted accordingly to account for voltage drop. 12. Provide and install lightning arrestor atop each pole and install down conductor (sized per NFPA 780) to ground rod. Install lightning ground rod at each pole and bond to existing ground rod, if present, to ensure 25 ohms or less ground resistance per NEC. 13. Any wiring installed at an existing round pole may be routed within the pole. Any wiring installed at a square pole shall be routed within 1-1/2” conduit mounted on the exterior of the pole. Consult lighting shop drawing for pole height and configuration. 14. Contractor to provide all necessary safety measures to protect the public, PBC employees, contractor personnel and all other visitors from potential safety issues, including, if necessary, fencing and other barriers, signage, cones, tape, etc.
