Within the four-row panel select trees will be harvested to leave a residual basal area of 50-70 square feet per acre. Trees to be removed in the leave rows include diseased, deformed, defective, forked and suppressed trees along with a portion of the intermediate and co-dominant trees to reach the target basal area. The trees to leave will be the better formed dominant or co-dominant trees free of any obvious defects such as forks, crooks, and cankers. Boundaries of the sale areas are forest type changes, roads or flagging, as depicted on attached sale maps. Estimated volumes to be removed include 15,495 tons of pine pulpwood and 4,642 tons of pine chip-n-saw and better.
