The City of Hollywood (the “City”) is soliciting bids from qualified and experienced vendors to provide building securing services that include board-up and fencing. Openings: Shall be secured using ½” exterior grade CDX plywood and 2” x 4” x 8’ studs cut to size, fastened with minimum size ¼” x 1 ¾ ” Tapcons or equivalent at twelve inches (12”) on center on the perimeter. Plywood shall extend to no more than six inches (6”) over the edge on any side. Unless it is not possible, the plywood shall not be fastened to the window frame. When possible, awnings shall be dropped and secured in lieu of board-up. Doors shall be secured with hasp and lock, if requested by the City. Vendor shall take precautions to ensure no damage is incurred to existing windows, storefronts, air conditioning units, structures, etc., during the course of any board-up or securing operations. Swimming Pools: Shall be either covered or filled in as specified by the Chief Building Official or designee. Pool covers shall be a product or method listed and approved by a 3rd party for the intended use. If the pool is to be filled in, clean, non-organic fill material less than three inches (3”) in diameter shall be used. Prior to the pool fill-in, the pool shall be cleaned of all debris, the bottom punched out and drained. A minimum size hole of six inches (6”) must be placed in the bottom of the pool near the main drain. A permit must be obtained from the Building Division prior to performance of work.
