To provide before and after school and full-day services when school is not in session (summer, breaks & holidays) on elementary and K-8 school campuses, the Contractor will serve THE DISTRICT children with: An inclusive program that is a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment. The program must be enriching, and promote student achievement through academic physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development for each child. As part of this RFP, the Contractor must submit on a quarterly basis a schedule of activities. The schedule of activities must be planned in conjunction with the school principal or designee and must incorporate a variety of topics that include arts and humanities, character development, health and fitness, homework support, literacy, science, math, service learning, social competence, and conflict resolution. Copies of the monthly schedule of activities including subsequent changes must be kept on file in the program’s office for the entire year. The curriculum used must address homework assistance, enrichment, and structured recreation and offer remediation support as needed. Quality comprehensive afterschool enrichment must emphasize fun activity-based learning that reinforces the knowledge and skills needed for in-school success as well as differentiated student learning based on goals.
