Specifications include, but are not limited to: Prior to the beginning of each season/league, a list of all officials shall be provided to the Orange County Parks and Recreation’s Activities Director. Orange County prefers that all officials be certified through a local, state or national organization. All officials utilized for Orange County Parks and Recreation shall complete a FDLE Background Screening (form attached) thru the division- free of charge. Page 31 Parks & Recreation requires that if the vendor assigns a first year official to a game, a veteran official (2-3 years experience) shall be assigned with him or her. Officials 16 years-18years should have a veteran working with them at all times. The vendor shall be able to provide officials to cover two (2) games simultaneously for a possible maximum of one hundred thirty two (132) games per scheduled day. The league schedule shall dictate the number of officials required for that day. Cancelled games shall be rescheduled at the end of the season on their regularly scheduled day. Cancelled games may be rescheduled for alternate dates if agreed upon by the vendor and Orange County Parks and Recreation. Orange County Parks and Recreation requires one official for the 5/6 & 7/8 age divisions (not to be a first year official) and two (2) officials for all other divisions, including adult, to call each game. In the event one (1) official cancels for unforeseen reasons, the one (1) official present will officiate by themselves for the older age divisions or the game will be cancelled for the younger divisions and rescheduled for a later date at the discretion of the league representative.
