Alachua County Environmental Protection Department is seeking bids for the following services as itemized in pricing form. A. Lot A - Bulk Packs and Lot B -Loose Packs: The intent is to procure the best service and price for pick up, transport and disposal of individual waste streams which are generated on a regular basis. These waste streams are generally predictable and in large quantities. These items may be awarded on a line item basis. B. Lot C - Lab Packs: The intent is to procure services with the expertise for managing wastes that vary widely in composition and properties. The pick-up, transportation and disposal of these specified wastes will include training and protocol preparation. This lot may be awarded as a whole. C. Lot D- Additional Services: Labor, facilities and materials for services not included in the above. 1. The used oil is stored in both AST's (tanks) as well as in 55 gallon drums. The tanks are all 550 gallon capacity. Please note that the used oil is currently being collected at multiple locations throughout Alachua County, currently 6 sites. 2. The oil that is stored in drums are only at the Hazardous Waste Collection Center and are generated by either small businesses that dispose of the oil at the center, or from mobile events and returned to the center for disposal. The oil in drums are to be pumped on-site into a tanker by the Contractor. 3. The frequency with which used oil pumping services will be required depends on the location and can vary from 2 to 4 weeks. 4. Vac truck service is not for shipping used oil, but to do periodic pumping of any sludge in the bottom of the used oil tanks. The tanks are to be pressure washed inside and out, pumped into the vac truck and properly managed and disposed per federal and state regulations. The waste would be sludge and/or oily water.
