Specifications include, but are not limited to: Pinellas County Utilities (PCU) is seeking to establish a contract for the harvest of surplus pine straw located in Pasco County at the Cross Bar /Al Bar Ranch. This contract is a one-time bid to harvest approximately 1331 acres of straw that is ready for harvesting now. The Pine straw originates from Planted Slash Pine that varies in age from approximately seven (7) years old to eleven (11) years old. Bidders should satisfy themselves to the actual acreage suitable for production consistent with their own standards of operation. Contractor access is limited to weekdays between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. In addition, the County will prohibit access on weekends, County holidays, four (4) days during the Thanksgiving holiday and two (2) weeks during the Christmas holiday as determined by the County’s Land Manager. Upon completion of the contract term, all contractor equipment, vehicles, and remaining pine straw bales and debris must be removed from the property.
