Haley VAMC in Tampa, FL, requires Ultra Low Temperature (-80°C) Freezers to replace old, non-functioning units. BACKGROUND: The ultra-low freezer is essential for storing samples like human and animal primary cells, stem cells, and tissues at -80°C for long-term storage and preservation. Current freezers are outdated, frequently breakdown, and cannot maintain required temperatures. This equipment is crucial for research that can lead to significant improvements in future healthcare for veterans. SCOPE: James A. Haley Veterans' Hospital Research and Development (R&D) program aims to advance veteran and national healthcare through knowledge discovery, researcher development, and healthcare innovations. This request is for Ultra-Low Temperature Freezers to support research activities, which will have clinical applications in the future. The contractor shall provide brand name or equal to Thermo Scientific Ultra Low Temperature (-80°C) Freezers that meet or exceed the salient characteristics, functional and performance criteria listed below. Contractor must also provide all necessary resources (labor, materials, tools, equipment, and transportation) and installation of ultra-low temperature freezers at the VA Research laboratory.
