The City of Sarasota, Florida, invites proposals for continuing consulting engineering design and construction oversight services for Small Public Works Right of Way and Parks Infrastructure Projects related to ongoing Public Works Capital Improvement, Rehabilitation, and Replacement Programs. These programs shall include the construction of new, rehabilitation, and/or replacement of existing public works infrastructure, such as, but not limited to, streets, sidewalks, drainage systems and related appurtenances.
In addition, the design firm will be tasked to design parks with its associated appurtenances, irrigation systems, water lines, and sanitary facilities. As such, the City requires high level technical engineering support services in order to achieve the above tasks and to efficiently maintain and operate its streets, sidewalks, drainage systems, parks, and related appurtenances. Services will be rendered in accordance with the Consultant’s Competitive Negotiations Act (CCNA) and must align with the City’s commitment to design excellence, sustainability, and community-focused development.
The City intends to make multiple awards to create a library (pool) of qualified engineering firms with varying expertise in a broad base of disciplines and specialties. The resulting contract(s) will be for continuing services. Projects and specific scopes of work for the given project or task will be assigned on an as-needed basis and the firm selected for each will be determined at the sole discretion of the City based upon the needed expertise, schedule, and other factors.
