This invitation to bid includes in general: asphalt paving, asphalt resurfacing, road grading and construction, asphalt milling, asphalt patching, asphalt leveling, the providing of asphalt materials. Bids shall include material, equipment, labor, transport of material, placement, compaction, and finishing the job to completion, including the paving of turnouts and driveways. Materials, construction methods, and work shall be in accordance with the current practices, standards, and specifications as outlined in in the current Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways, the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, and FDOT Design Manual and Standard Drawings or as otherwise listed herein or directed by the Public Works Director or their designee.
Contractor shall have a FDOT certification to perform paving projects with Superpave asphaltic concrete. Construction of leveling with asphalt material shall meet the specifications in Section 330 of the 2010 edition and section 320-6.2 of the 2000 edition of the FDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. Any exceptions to the specifications must be approved by the Public Works Director or their designee.
The Contractor will be required, as deemed necessary by the Public Works Department, to furnish the necessary grading to lay back the existing road edges to a full width to be paved, furnish the necessary brooming of the existing road surface, and furnish an asphaltic distributor to tack the necessary existing road surfaces before resurfacing. The asphaltic tack material will be handled as set out in the attached specifications.
Statewide
