Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Communicating the weapons screening protocol to guests, as needed; 2. Directing guests to enter the weapons screening devices; 3. Operating the weapons screening devices; 4. Identifying prohibited items; 5. Denying access to persons who are in possession of prohibited items; 6. Coordinating with law enforcement representatives, as appropriate if a prohibited item is discovered; 7. Notifying Events DC’s Director of Security Services and/or his designee of identified prohibited items and any actions taken; 8. Documenting any incidence of identified or discovered prohibited items and the actions taken; 9. Communicating and coordinating with Events DC Security Services and its contractor, as necessary, as part of the overall security team at the Convention Center; 10. Making recommendations to enhance the overall weapons screening program at the Convention Center and Carnegie; 11. Immediately reporting occurrence on non-compliance by persons to be screened; 12. Monitoring and controlling entry and access to the Convention Center; 13. Securing and safely transferring recovered property to Events DC Security Services; 14. Assisting on-site personnel in emergency situations; and 15. Providing other security assistance and support, as required.
