• The Contractor shall be responsible for providing customer maps, navigational tools, and staffing support related to Metrobus network redesign, service changes, accessible mapping, special events and construction maps, and other location-specific requests. Work will be performed on an on-call basis, with assignments ranging from a few days to multiple months. • For each assignment, WMATA will issue a Request for a Task Order Proposal based on the Contractor’s proposed team and approach, at the prices stated in the Price Schedule. The Contractor’s personnel must be available to provide the required services throughout the assignment period. Any changes in proposed personnel must be approved by the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR). • The Contractor shall respond to each request, which will be evaluated based on the price schedule and contract terms. • As part of the proposal, the Contractor shall describe its approach to the Maps Guidelines redesign, including an iterative design process, staffing plan with hours and rates, meeting and review cadence, and plans for discovery, user testing, and usability testing. 3.1 VENDOR SERVICES Services requested by WMATA under this Contract will range in scope and size based on project needs. The work consists of, but is not limited to, the following specific areas of services: 3.1.1 CARTOGRAPHY/MAP DESIGN SERVICES The Vendor shall provide on-call creative services and deliverables such as, Metrobus network bus maps, bus system schematic maps, span of service maps, bus bay maps, directories of bus services, Metrorail/Metrobus maps, Metrorail maps, and neighborhood connection maps using contemporary cartographic and GIS techniques. The Vendor must make necessary local deliveries and pick-ups/deliveries of deliverables to and from the WMATA service area as required. Typical Map Design Elements included in the deliverables (but are not limited to): • Geographic Map Frame: easy to understand and geographic “explore” style overlay • Service Information: Route tracing, service frequencies, boarding locations, service span hours, and Service Alerts Map for incidents or disruptions. • Pathway access: Templates to include key navigation information and the development of an easily understandable system for pedestrian, bike, and transit access. • Timetables: templates to automate the timetable production process, provide customers a “customized timetable” based on route, direction and time span of travel. • Specialized Customer Navigation Resources: construction zones, diagrams, special event exceptions, and other WMATA- specific elements. • Map Guidelines Manual: A comprehensive and regularly updated resource that clearly articulates the guiding principles for the creation of maps of all types in order to ensure consistency across the universe of maps WMATA customers use. Typical Output Types include (but are not limited to): • Static: Heavy duty material printing for stops, street signs, floor decals, and banners. • Print: For cardstock/paper of various layouts, including at-home printing. • Digital: For mobile apps, websites, social media, touch/non-touch digital displays, downloads
