Platform Concrete Spalling Make improvements to expansion joints and spalled areas on the platform. Remove worn-out seals and backer-rod from expansion joints. Install new seals and backer-rod for expansion joints and cracks, per manufacturer instructions. o See Appendix A for Existing Conditions o See Appendix B for Amtrak Spall Repair Procedure o See Appendix C for Amtrak Concrete Maintenance and Material Requirements o Exact number of spalled areas to be determined at the job walk. Any further platform spalling repairs must be pre-approved and a change order will be issued. o Finished surface must match existing adjacent concrete. o Patch products approved by Amtrak Division Engineering include MG Krete and Sika. o The work is on an active platform used by Amtrak customers. Contractor is responsible provide temporary signage clearly identifying drying/uncured product. Contractor to cordon off areas where concrete work is being completed. Flagging will be needed for this project. o Please indicate in the bid, the number of days of flagging needed to complete the track work in this project.
