The Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) solicits grant applications from eligible entities (called “Applicant” or “Applicants”). The goal of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to mitigate the effects of nonpoint source pollution, reduce stormwater runoff, improve water conservation and increase District residents’ understanding of stormwater issues. The Natural Resources Administration - Watershed Protection Division (WPD) of DOEE will administer this RFA. The purpose of this grant is to fund an eligible entity to (1) install rain barrels on private property in the District, (2) recycle rain barrels, (3) issue rebates, and (4) strengthen District residents’ understanding of stormwater issues and management. Stormwater runoff is a major contributor of pollution to the District’s waterways and the Chesapeake Bay.
