Specifications include, but are not limited to: The District of Columbia Public Library (DCPL) system is comprised of twenty-six (26) libraries and offers services and programs in other venues throughout the District. The entire portfolio has either been razed and rebuilt, fully renovated, in design, or will be entering the procurement design/build stage within the next few years. These iconic buildings have been designed by some of the best architects in the world and have won numerous awards. They reflect the transformative nature of libraries and reflect what a 21st-century state-of-the-art library should be. DCPL, through this Request for Proposals (RFP), seeks to engage the services of one (1) or more contractors to furnish all labor, supervision, supplies/materials, and equipment necessary as it relates to audio and visual production work with DC Public Library specifically to serve as additional support to in-house audiovisual and production staff and/or provide audiovisual support for the DCPL Special Event rental program. Under the direction of DCPL Office of Marketing and Communications or DCPL Events Rental Department, the Contractor shall provide the following audio-visual support as needed: 1) Serves as AV technical advisor and recommends the optimal setup and use of equipment for DCPL-sponsored events as well as special event rentals. 2) Provides setup for special events and system-wide programs using a variety of equipment, including lights, cables, and sound systems; operates video cameras, monitors, projectors, public address system, multi-box, control lighting; and any other AV equipment as needed. 3) Provides AV technicians as needed who shall remain at the program or event to ensure the proper functioning of equipment. 4) Maintain, operate, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and make minor repairs to AV equipment being used for DCPL productions and event rentals, and recommend replacement and servicing as needed. 5) Perform other related duties as assigned.
