REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR COMMERCIALLY AVAILABLE GLOBAL MEDICAL COVERAGE
1.0 Description
1.1 The U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic is seeking information on any interested insurance companies that could provide a commercially available plan for health insurance coverage policies. It is expected that the proposed Policies will cover:
- Hospitalization
- Emergency Services
- Ambulance
- Outpatient Services
- Obstetric and Newborn Care
- Pediatric Services
- Prescription Drugs
- Preventive and Wellness Services and Chronic Disease Management
- Hearing Examinations and Treatment
- Optical Examinations and Treatment
- Reproductive Health
- Mental Health and Substance Abuse Care
- Rehabilitative and Habilitative Services and Devices
- HIV/AIDS
- Dental Examinations and Treatment
- Catastrophic Coverage
- Out-of-Country Medical Treatment and Travel
- Coverage for Dependents After Employee’s Death
The list above is not final and may be adjusted at the time of RFQ/RFP issuance.
The following is a rough estimate of the number of employees: 280 employees plus 620 eligible spouses and children.
1.2 This is a request for information (RFI) ONLY.
This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP or RFQ in the future. This request for information does not commit the Government of the United States of America to contract for any supply or service whatsoever.
Further, the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Responders are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on www.sam.gov. It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement.
2.0 Requested Information
The requested information is to estimate potential costs to the U.S. government, evaluate the service implementation timeline, and note available service providers.
3.0 Responses
Interested parties are requested to respond to this RFI by email to BishkekGSOProcurement@state.gov on or before June 6, 2025, at 14:00 local time.
4.0 Company Information
The response should provide the following information:
Company official name, copy of the license to operate in Kyrgyzstan, mailing address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail of designated points of contact, their emails & phone.
5.0 Meetings and Discussions
U.S. Government representatives may or may not choose to meet with potential RFI service providers. Such meetings and discussions would only be intended to get further clarification of potential capability.
6.0 Questions
Questions and the responses regarding this RFI shall be submitted in writing by email to BishkekGSOProcurement@state.gov.
7.0 Summary
This is a request for information (RFI) ONLY to identify sources that can provide commercially available plans Policies of Health Insurance Coverage.
The information provided in the RFI is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. The U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic has not made a commitment to procure services discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
