This project involves the installation of security countermeasures for the REA Building at 900 2nd St. NE, Washington, D.C. The selected Contractor must provide expertise in installing a complete solution of Video Surveillance System (VSS), Access Control System (ACS), Fencing, Gates, Signage, Lighting, and a vehicular speed hump. The selected construction firm shall: Installation of high-definition CCTV cameras along the perimeter of the building, in the garage, the building corridors in the basement, and within the north and south lobbies/elevator cores on all levels. Installation of a balanced magnetic switch, card reader, magnetic door lock, and break glass for all doors leading from the parking garage to the building. Installation of magnetic door locks, pushbuttons, and card readers to doors leading from the elevator lobby to the interior stairs across all floors. Installation of card readers to secure areas beyond the elevator lobby across all floors. Installation of balanced magnetic switches to all exterior doors in the first story. Lighting: Removal of all existing wall-mounted and pendant light fixtures on the exterior of the building and in the garage. Installation of new light fixtures in the same locations. Installation of additional light fixtures along the Second Street elevation, mounted above the keystones of the arched openings on the first story and above-ground parking lot entrance. Fence/Gates: Installation of exterior high-security palisade fencing with gates on the North and South sides of the building. Speed Hump: Installation of traffic calming measures at the entrance of the building to slow the speed of any incoming/exiting vehicular traffic to the above-ground parking lot. Power Outlets: Installation of (02) Ground Fault Interrupting (GFI) Receptacle for the Segways charging station of APD personnel. Qualifications: Qualification will be based on demonstration of the General Contractor’s ability to address each of the following: Adhere to all Amtrak required safety training and obtain any necessary certifications. Equipment Operators must have ample work experience operating equipment off-track. Amount of work. Experience to be consider “ample” is at the discretion of Amtrak.
