DOEE seeks an entity to assist at least two licensed mobile food vendors in Washington, DC, with the purchase and installation of battery generators. Mobile food vendors will be “subrecipients” of DOEE’s grant funding. A single grantee will use DOEE’s funding, plus other available resources, to select two or more subrecipients to purchase and install the equipment. Funding and available resources may also address maintenance services. The project period is short, ending on September 30, 2025. The grantee will provide DOEE with a final report, addressing the project, lessons learned, and making recommendations for future similar projects, if any. A mobile food vendor is a person or business who operates a licensed vehicle, truck, trailer, or cart temporarily parked on premises to vend, sell, offer for sale, solicit orders, display, or otherwise serve food or beverages for human consumption to the public. This includes individuals selling food from public or private property. Common examples include food trucks, food carts, and farmers' market stands.
