Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority plans to retain professional Architectural and Engineering(A/E) services for the design of the Joint Firearms Training Facility and Snow Equipment Storage Facility atWashington Dulles International Airport.The Joint Firearms Training Facility involves the design of three (3) firing ranges with bullet containmentsystems, range material and ammunition storage, and a training building for use by both Authority andLoudoun County police forces. The firing ranges consist of two 50 yard ranges surrounded on two or threesides with walls/earthen berms and a ballistic roof. In addition, a 300 yard rifle range surrounded on threesides with earthen berms, with a common wall to the 50 yard range, and without a ballistic roof. The trainingbuilding consists of an approximate 6,800 square foot modular building with classrooms, offices, a simulationroom, and locker room facilities. Site development, including access road, parking lot, and utilities, is alsoincluded.The Snow Equipment Storage Facility involves the design of an unoccupied storage shed enclosed on twosides for purposes of storing snow removal equipment. The facility is planned to be constructed in three (3)phases. The A/E will provide a design package for each phase. The first phase includes 60,000 square feet ofunoccupied storage area and site development consisting of circulation roadways and lighting. The facilitymay also include a break room and restroom, as well as water and sanitary sewer connections. The secondand third phases will each consist of 20,000 square feet of additional unoccupied storage area as well ascorresponding site development.
