C.5.1 The contractor shall be levels 1, 2, and 3 TRAA certified. C.5.2 The contractor shall provide automotive towing services, that include automobiles, SUV’s ambulances, pumper trucks, and ladder trucks, on an as-needed basis. C.5.3 The contractor shall provide flatbed towing services for ATV’s, on an as-needed basis. C.5.4 The contractor shall provide towing-related minor truck maintenance services on an asneeded basis. C.5.5 The contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, shop supplies, materials, supervision, and other and all necessary items required to perform all towing and repair services. C.5.6 The designated contractor’s personnel assigned to service or repair work shall be ASE, TRAA, or manufacturers certified and maintained compliance with NFPA and DOT regulations. The District reserves the right to verify the certifications of contractor employees assigned to service or repair work. FEMS reserves the right to have proof of employee certifications provided within twenty-four hours of the request. C.5.7 The contractor shall perform all towing services in accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s guidelines, equipment manuals, and accepted industry stands, ensuring mechanically sound, safe, and reliable emergency equipment. C.5.8 The contractor shall prioritize towing and road service requests from FEMS personnel as these emergency fire and apparatus vehicles are designated public safety units and require timely turnarounds. The contractor is expected to provide timely performance of all agreed-upon towing and recovery services for each request. As these towing and recovery services are considered emergency services, a maximum one-hour response time is required, unless a different timeframe is mutually agreed upon for specific circumstances. C.5.9 The contractor must pull the curbside rear axle prior to towing any vehicle with a GVW greater than 10,000 lbs.
