Specifications include, but are not limited to: KIPP DC is requesting proposals for a card-based student attendance management and access control platform. Responses must include (1) software that syncs rosters and schedules with the PowerSchool student information system, which (2) enables staff members to review data about which students are present, and (3) the has ability to scan student ID cards using barcode scanning, swiping or RFID devices quickly as students enter the building. The platform should be able to accommodate approximately 1,200 students at KIPP DC’s two high schools. KIPP DC reserves the right to retain all of the RFPs, and to use any ideas in an RFP regardless of whether the proposal is selected. Submission of a proposal indicates acceptance by the vendor of the conditions contained in this request for proposals, unless clearly stated and specifically noted in the proposal submitted and in the contract between KIPP DC and the selected vendor. Proposals may be withdrawn by the proposer prior to the time fixed for the opening of RFPs but may not be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for submittal of proposals. KIPP DC is open to learning about alternative solutions and options that are not specified in this document, but the successful proposal will still meet, at minimum, the technical and general use requirements as outlined in this document. Technical System Requirements • System must be able to sync student roster and attendance data from the PowerSchool student information system. System should have the capacity to push attendance data back to PowerSchool and/or other student attendance software. • Attendance data in the platform must be accessible online through a web browser by schoolbased staff and regional support staff or administrators. • Platform must be supported with online, remote, or recorded training materials for school and operations staff. • Hardware used to scan student ID badges must be repairable and replaceable by the vendor or third-party vendors.
