Amtrak seeks a contractor perform the following tasks. Reference bid package for full details. Install owner supplied curved turnout, current stored on site - reconfigure tracks 1 & 2 in accordance with bid package plans. Remove existing 1/2 switch, salvage all components, mark and package for transport and reassembly by others - deliver to and unload at Oregon Rail Heritage Museum Remove station track 1 from last long tie of 1/3 switch north to 10’ past existing foul point. Remove station track 2 from 1/2 switch north to 10’ past existing foul point. Remove existing ballast under removed portion of tracks 1, 2 and 1/2 switch - 6 inches+ under bottom of existing ties. Dispose of ballast, per bid package and in accordance with Prosper Portland’s requirements and existing environmental regulations, prepare surface for track installation. Modify edge of track 2 platform in accordance with existing plans to accommodate track 2 reconfiguration. Remaining Rail, ties, tie plates, anchors, and joint bars – property of contractor. Dispose of or Salvage as contractor sees fit Remove ties & ballast 15 inches below existing grade, 6 inches+ below bottom of tie, prep grade for installation of new switch and tracks. Do not disturb existing subgrade Use Contractor provided wood ties, or Amtrak provided Concrete ties whichever is more cost effective. Contractor responsible to procure new pads, insulators, clips and associated track jewelry. Use Amtrak provided 136 lb Rail. 100% track renewal. See plans for locations and distance(s), Install new Amtrak provided 136 lb rail in accordance with Amtrak’s CWR Manual of instructions, flash butt weld rail wherever possible, minimize use of thermite welding, eliminate all rail joints, unless instructed otherwise by Amtrak. Install new ballast. Raise, line and surface track. Install 4 Amtrak provided Insulated rail joints on tracks 1 & 2 as instructed by UPRR signal maintainers and Amtrak signal representative, Steve McDowell.
