Specifications include, but are not limited to: Bidder’s should present a detailed explanation of how they will develop and implement evidence, practice, or research-based PSE strategies that will help Delawareans of all ages engage in regular physical activity, eat healthy, and make intentional lifestyle changes, lowering the risk of developing heart disease, cancer, chronic lower respiratory disease, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. The scope of this work will focus on schools, worksites and community-based settings. The PANO program’s long-term goal is to reduce the prevalence of obesity and other chronic diseases by promoting healthy lifestyles and improving health outcomes for Delawareans. Through this RFP, the PANO Program intends to enhance cross-sector collaboration in health care, work sites, educational institutions and the community. Applications should promote the use of PSE strategies to educate and facilitate collaboration among diverse sectors. The intent will be to ensure consideration of primary prevention strategies to reduce chronic disease by focusing on the social determinants of health that directly impact the common risk factors of physical inactivity and poor nutrition, and even tobacco and nicotine use that lead to poor health outcomes and increased health care spending.
