Pedestrian Pole Transformer Base 1. Transformer base requirements. a. Cast Aluminum - Aluminum Association Alloy 319 or 356-T6 and ASTM B26 or ASTM B108. b. Natural aluminum finish or color as specified in the contract. c. Size – 15-inches high with an approximately 13 3/4- inches square base with collar wide enough for nominal 4-inch schedule 40 and 4-inch Schedule 80 aluminum pedestal poles. d. Capacity - Withstand an ultimate moment of 12,000 ft-lb, or greater, at the bottom of the base. e. Breakaway Characteristics - Meet the requirements of the latest revision of the AASHTO Standard Specifications and be FHWA certified.
