Specifications include, but are not limited to: Operate a comprehensive program for special education students who have significant social/emotional and mental health needs. Students in the program may have a range of different diagnoses, which may include: ADHD, ODD, Mood Disorders, Autism, adjustment disorders, and other medical or mental health issues the impact behaviors and emotions. Typical number of students served is 8-12 per program and number of contracted staff is typically 4, but could be higher depending on service model. Provide instructional support services (academics, counseling, conflict resolution, anger management, parent education) that will improve students’ academic and behavioral performance as measured by appropriate instruments (e.g., DIBELS, STAR, SMARTER, curriculum-based measures, behavior monitoring instruments). Provide short-term family treatment/support services as needed to improve/maintain educational functioning. These services will include short-term family therapy, family liaison and home visits. Provide behavioral/social/emotional support services (individual and group counseling, behavioral observation, staff consultation, Functional Behavior Assessment, Behavior Support Planning, Individualized Education Plan development and implementation). Develop and implement the classroom therapeutic setting using district mandated curricular maps, pacing guides and resources as well as evidence-based behavioral/social/emotional teaching interspersed throughout the school day.
