SCOPE OF WORK | SPECIFICATIONS A. New Castle County Department of Public Works (the County) is seeking bids for on-call rehabilitation of sanitary sewer manholes to maintain service life by lining and/or coating of interior surfaces; contractual services as described herein at various sites countywide. B. For the purpose of this bid, manhole rehabilitation is defined as the application of coating materials to arrest surface deterioration and preserve a manhole’s service life. C. This document encompasses all products and services necessary to furnish and install and/or apply a variety of linings and protective coatings for rehabilitation of sanitary sewer manholes. The rehabilitation of manholes shall be accomplished by the application of cementitious patching or plugging materials, chemical grouting, linings, and/or coatings both individually or in a compatible combination that when applied will eliminate water leakage into the manhole and protect exposed surfaces from hydrogen sulfide corrosion or damage from equipment utilized to maintain the sewer system. All linings and coatings proposed for use by the Vendor shall meet the specifications contained herein and may include chemical grouts, cementitious patching materials, cementitious linings and protective coatings that, when installed or applied, shall seal the manhole from infiltration and protect the manhole structure. These products and materials shall hereafter be collectively referred to as “linings and/or coatings.” The linings and/or coatings furnished hereunder shall cause no adverse effects to the County’s processes, assets or facilities either during or after application. The use of the product by the Vendor shall not result in the formation of production of any detrimental compounds or by- products in the sanitary sewer conveyance system at the wastewater treatment plant.
