This Request for Proposal shall establish a contract for the pick-up and disposal of infectious sharps and bio-medical waste for State of Delaware facilities in three counties: New Castle, Kent, and Sussex. The vendor shall pick-up and transport sharps and infectious bio-medical waste to an EPA authorized disposal facility, which will dispose of the infectious waste in a manner permitted by the State of Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) guidelines and regulations. All vendors must be in compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations and codes. The vendor must abide by the State of Delaware’s transporter requirements as applicable and outlined in 7 DE Admin. Code 1301 of DNREC’s solid waste regulations.
