Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project involves renovations of the lobby first and second floor at the Carvel Building in Wilmington, Delaware. The scope of work shall include new entrance doors and vestibules, new raised floor, accessible ramps and steps with new finishes, new capitol police station with canopy, open stair and second floor glass railing replacement, new ceiling, lighting fixtures, and ceiling devices, new tenant space for food service, and exterior snow/ice melt system at the street entrance. The mechanical intent of this project is to replace AC-3 serving the lobby first and second floor with two units while maintaining building egress and occupation. In order to achieve this intent the construction activities will be phased. The base bid includes the demolition and removal of existing air handling unit (AC-3) and provide two new air handling units (AC-3A and AC-3B). These units will be custom units and will be constructed on site due to limited access. The ductwork, piping, and other equipment shown to be removed and installed on these plans are intended to be work on during off-hours and it is the contractor’s responsibility to provide temporary heat or cooling in construction areas as well as occupied areas.
