The Contractor shall be required to respond to emergencies, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Engineering services are performed on each of the movable bridge structures by a City of New Haven On-Call Engineer and are not included. The Contractor’s work shall include but not be limited to: Assisting the Engineer in accessing the structure in the case that vehicular or navigational traffic damages a portion of the bridge. The mechanical and electrical equipment is designed to stall prior to any damage to the structure, but instances have occurred where the adjacent structural members are distorted under machinery loads. Provide temporary and / or permanent repairs to, or replacement of, defective components. Other modifications, installation, replacement, or removal of bridge equipment or systems as directed by the Engineer. Assisting the Engineer in trouble-shooting electrical malfunctions or failures in the bridge machinery systems.
