Specifications include, but are not limited to: Distribution of Containers The vendor must provide dumpsters or carts, as it so determines, with assistance from the Recycling Coordinator. Adjustments may need to be made throughout the course of the contract to optimize diversion and efficiency. The containers will be the property of the vendor and will be distributed and serviced by the vendor only. The vendor will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining all collection containers. Containers must be properly labeled and colors provided must be different than those currently being used by the City of Middletown Public Works Department. All containers must be approved by the Recycling Coordinator. Communication and Education The vendor will be responsible for communicating with customers about contamination issues and scheduling changes. Vendors must state how this communication will occur. They must also work closely with the Recycling Coordinator to coordinate generate education and outreach to customers. Contamination and Rejected loads The vendor will be responsible for rejected and contaminated loads. The vendor must state what the procedure is for a rejected load. Vendor must note any additional charges for this. The vendor must provide a plan on notifying businesses regarding contamination issues and procedures if a container cannot be emptied due to contamination.
