Specifications include, but are not limited to: Materials accepted by the City are subject to stringent separation requirements; sheetrock, shingles, and ceramics must be separated from any materials. Materials come primarily from small businesses and individuals holding bulky waste permits issued by the Public Works Department. Approximately 600 cubic yards (200 tons) are accepted annually by the Public Works Department, with approximately two hauls per month. The City may elect to haul the materials to the selected contractor’s facility, in accordance with existing regulatory standards. The City may alternatively require the contractor to haul the materials from the City’s Transfer Station, at the contractor’s expense and via the Contractor’s equipment, to the contractor’s disposal facility. BID OPTION 1 - REMOVAL/TRANSPORT BY CITY The City shall weigh removed materials on the City’s weight scales, and shall transport the materials to the contractor’s facility in containers provided by the contractor. $______/ton Location of the disposal facility must be within twenty-five (25) miles of the Bristol Transfer Station, and permitted by the State of Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. (“DEEP”), with permit to be valid at least through June 2016 (copy of permit to be provided upon request). BID OPTION 2 - REMOVAL/TRANSPORT BY CONTRACTOR The contractor shall remove the materials, following weight verification on the City’s weight scales, via 25 to 30 cubic yard containers provided by the contractor, transported to the contractor’s facility via the contractor’s vehicles.The contractor’s disposal facility shall be properly permitted by DEEP.
