The Town of Greenwich is finally realizing a new facility on the existing Central Middle School property with a new middle school serving the same 6th – 8th grade population. The new middles school will house up to 660 students in approximately 125,000 gross square feet in a two-story structure. The first floor features a secure entrance and houses common areas like the auditorium, gym, media center, and cafeteria. It also includes administrative offices, arts spaces, and specialized classrooms. Building services are located on the north side, built into the hill. The second floor contains academic classrooms designed for modern teaching methods, with flexible spaces for various group sizes. Three distinct pods support two teams per grade level. Specialty services are situated between pods, with access to outdoor courtyards on the forested north hill. The new Central Middle School will be a dynamic learning center for generations of students.
