2.0 BACKGROUND The approximate 11-acre Site is generally located at 900 Post Road E in Westport, Connecticut and is generally bordered by Post Road E to the north, Sherwood Island Connector to the west, Hillandale Road to the south, and West Parish Road to the east. The eastern portion of the Site is currently developed with the existing DOT maintenance facility, while the western portion of the Site is currently undeveloped containing several material stockpiles and exposed bedrock. Existing grades in the area of proposed improvements are variable, ranging from between about El. 65 to 87. The project consists of constructing a 23,000-square-foot maintenance facility building with associated parking, storage structures, and underground utilities generally within the western portion of the Site. We understand that the proposed single-story building will be constructed slabon-grade (i.e., no basement level) with a first-floor elevation of about El. 72±). Paved parking, access-ways, and utilities are proposed immediately surrounding the proposed building. Foundation and slab loads were not available at the time this report was prepared.
