Specifications include, but are not limited to: • All salt will be free flowing and granular. • Contractor shall provide salt with a sodium chloride content of 95.0 percent or greater. The Client Agency, at its discretion, may reject or accept salt having a purity of less than 95.0 percent sodium chloride content. If the Client Agency accepts salt having a purity of less than 95.0 percentsodium chloride content, the Client Agency may apply a payment reduction in the amount set forth in Table 1 corresponding to the percent of sodium chloride in the salt. • Contractor shall only provide salt that has been treated with a conditioner approved by the Client Agency, such as sodium ferrocyanide, that will prevent salt from caking while in storage. This anti-caking conditioner shall be added to salt at its point of origin, whether mined from natural salt deposits or produced artificially, prior to the Contractor’s acceptance of the salt. The Contractor shall provide salt with visible anti-cracking conditioner that has been uniformly mixed into the salt, at a maximum concentration of 50 parts per million. • The Town of Clinton reserves the right to randomly test material delivered to the Clinton Department of Public Works for purpose of confirmation of specifications
