The building is a three-storystructurethat isapproximately250,000square feet in area and includes a three-story atrium.The building is located on an urbansite bounded to thesouth by BroadStreet, to thewest by WashingtonBoulevard, to thenorth by aprivateresidentialcondominiumcomplex and to the east by Franklin Street.Inaccordancewith an executive orderissued byformer GovernorJodiM. Rell, theconstruction documents and construction fororiginalprojectwere reviewed for codecompliance by the University Office of FireMarshal and Building Inspector (OFMBI).As a result of that review, the OFMBI issued a series of building and fire code Notices ofDiscrepancies(NOD). This project shall addresseight (8)NOD’scomprised ofNOD6(AuditoriumCenter Handrail),NOD9 (AuditoriumHandrails),NOD13 (ExteriorEgressStairs),NOD16 (ExteriorHandrails),NOD33 (Exit Signs),NOD36 (StairEnclosurePenetrations and Fire Ratings),NOD39 (Fire Alarm Visual DevicesandNOD40 (FireAlarm Pull Boxes);plusAlternate1 (Pre-FabricatedLoading Dock),Alternate 2 (AtriumHandrail)and other Work indicated in the Contract Documents.2.Removal of all debris caused by this Contract.3.Protectionofthe public, building, grounds from damage during this contract is theresponsibility of the Contractor for this project at all times.
