FALL WORK: 1. Removal of existing court tapes and nails, store on site to be re-used. SPRING WORK: 1. Roll courts 2. Install new tapes to three (3) courts yearly as stated in #14 of this section for Courts 1-9. 3. Clean courts of excess dead materials and debris, load and remove from all 9 courts. 4. Establish pitch of courts 1-5 playing area, courts 6&7 playing area, courts 8&9 playing area with a transit level or equivalent. 5. Courts to be scarified and dry dragged with a 16ft. drag bar to level courts. 6. Court baselines to be leveled with 16ft. drag bar to improve heavy wear zones with Har-Tru Top Dressing. 7. Add two (2) tons of Har-Tru per court. The Contractor shall designate source before delivery for inspection by the Town of Westport Parks and Recreation Department. 8. Har-Tru Top Dressing will be spread evenly throughout the courts using a mechanical spreader to allow even distribution of materials. 9. Courts will be hydrated and rolled 10. Survey and set corners for all lines to be laid out on all courts and install the stored tapes with 3-inch Aluminum Nails on all courts. If any of the original tapes are not reusable, notify the Town of Westport Parks and Recreation Department for authorization. 11. Courts to be groomed and lines to be rolled. 12. Contractor is to leave fifty (50) bags of Har-Tru for inventory to the Longshore Tennis Courts. 13. Roll thoroughly and brush Har-Tru courts 14. Install nets, center 12” anchors and center straps to all courts. Each net post will be inspected and the condition of each post base will be recorded and reported to the Town of Westport Parks and Recreation Department designee in writing. Install three (3) new sets of court tapes each year beginning on Courts 1 – 3. 15. Add two hundred (200) pounds of Calcium Chloride per court to all 9 courts. 16. All materials delivered as part of this Contract by the Contractor will be inspected prior to the unloading at the site. 17. All materials are to be Har-Tru specific: Har-Tru Top Dressing & Har-Tru Classic Tapes (Standard Hole) 18. NOTE: throughout these “Specifications” any manufacturer and/or material specified is for definitional purposes only. The Town of Westport reserves the right to approve any substitute manufacturer and/or materials that it deems equal. 19. The Contractor will meet with Senior Parks Foreman to review the preparation; work must not exceed Budget Appropriation.
