Sign faces shall be screen printed on 3M High Intensity Prismatic Reflective sheeting or equivalent material in conformance with Connecticut Department of Transportation, Bureau of Highways specification for Reflective Sheeting #183-C or latest revision. 3M High Intensity Prismatic Reflective Sheeting Series 3930 is a non-metalized micro-prismatic lens reflective sheeting designed for protection of reflective durable traffic control signs, work zone devices and delineators that are exposed vertically in service. Applied to properly prepared sign substrates, 3M high intensity prismatic sheeting provides long-term reflectivity and durability. This specification should be used for all “red series” signs. These are termed “Life Protecting Signs” and include STOP (HIR1-1), YIELD (HIR1-2), NO LEFT TURN (HIR3-2L), DO NOT ENTER (HIR5-1), etc. as well as CURVE WARNING signs, (Chevron HIW1-8) which are black screened on yellow
