1) This Contract will include removing snow from parking lots, vehicle accessways, and driveways. No Sidewalks are included in this request. 2) The awards will be made per property, so bidders may opt out of bidding specific properties. 3) Bid schedule pricing is per storm event and not per visit to the site. 4) If there is significant snowfall, coordination with site maintenance staff on available stockpiling areas is required. If there is no available space, snow must be removed from the site. 5) There should be no assumption that the Town Public Works Department will assist the contractor in performing its duties. 6) All work to be performed under the direction and supervision of the Building Supervisor of the Board of Education, James Mazon (860) 314-2777 (x5422). 7) All work at Terryville High School must be completed before 6:30 a.m. Work at Eli Terry Jr. Middle School, Harry S. Fisher Elementary School and Plymouth Center School must be completed before 7:00 a.m. following or during storms. 8) The contractor shall file with the Town a certificate of workers’ compensation, public liability and property damage insurance executed by its insurance company in the amounts listed in Appendix A. 9) The contractor shall clear and create safe any and all of the parking areas, access roads, driveways as outline in this document at each bid location from any accumulation of snow. Treating of parking areas or roads is NOT included in the bid. 10) The contractorshall be responsible for any loss or damage that may happen during snow plowing operations and shall make good any defects or faults that may occur. Reasonable care must be taken to prevent damage to curbing, fencing, and lawn areas.
