Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Bristol is seeking submissions from contractors and/or individuals with appropriate plowing equipment, that are interested in supporting snow plowing operations for the 2018-2019 season. The City intends to contract for forty-four (44) trucks with operators, consisting of up to eighteen (18) small four-wheel drive trucks, Ford F350 or equivalent, with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of less than 23,999 lbs.; and twenty-six (26) or more large trucks, dump or tractor type with a GVW of at least 24,000 lbs. The number of trucks with operators to be assigned to the active list will be limited, with preference given to larger trucks (i.e. if more than 26 large truck submissions are received, the Public Works Department reserves the right to accordingly reduce the number of small trucks contracted). A maximum of four (4) 3-or-4 axle dump trucks may be accepted only if necessary, to reach the needed number of large trucks. All trucks must have a body suitable for carrying a ballast load (furnished by owner) or shall have other suitable ballast, such as securely attached concrete blocks.
