Specifications include, but are not limited to: Due to well-known, documented, highly publicized security vulnerabilities associated with antiquated technology, the University is issuing this RFI to support its desire to increase its collective knowledge in support of its forthcoming technology upgrade. The goal of this project is to upgrade not only the cards themselves, but also may include upgrades to infrastructure in support of the same, including but not limited to physical access control card readers. The goal of this initiative is to re-card the entire University to a smart card, which will also have a magnetic stripe (and may include a proximity chip). The project may also include, as required, the transition to smartcard-enabled readers for all Dining facilities, the new Recreation Center opening in Fall 2019, and all Residence Halls by the end of Summer 2019.
