Specifications include, but are not limited to: a.Rental Uniforms:i.Provide rental uniforms for the SCPDsecurity technicians per specificationsand quantitiesbelow. All items must be available in sizes and styles for sixteen (16) male security technicians and two (2) female security technicians.Sizesand the number of security technicians are subject to change throughout the contract term.1)2 blazersper security technician: Single-breasted, two buttons on the front, fully lined.2)6 trousers/slacksper security technician–unpleated, plain front, hemmed to proper length. Color: Dark gray and/or navy blue.3)4 long-sleeved shirts/blousesper security technician: Oxford button-down, one pocket, machine washable. Color: White, light blue, solids.4)4 short-sleeved shirts per security technician: Oxford button-down, one pocket,machine washable. Color: White, light blue, solids.5)1 dress tieper security technician: Clip-on, Color: navy blue.ii.Identify the brand/manufacturer/trade nameand specificationsof each product being proposediii.Prior to awarding the contract, the CGA will request uniform samples. Uniform samples must have factory tags in place. b.Issuance of Uniforms:All clothing and replacements shall be new and issued as requested by the CGA. The CGA may order and will receive at its request replacement garments as often as necessary to ensure proper appearance and fit. The SCPD will be responsible for making the determination that a garment requires replacement and the awarded respondent shall comply with such request at no additional cost. The awarded respondent shall pick up all garments to be returned in Room 1200 of the Legislative Office Building. The awarded respondent shall exchange garments as required in the event of personnel turnoversat no cost.c.Delivery:Deliveries and pickups shall be made on Tuesdays and Thursdays respectively during the normal operating hours of the Legislative Office Building, which are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Normal business days areMonday through Friday, excluding Connecticut State Holidays which are New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Lincoln’s Birthday; Washington’s Birthday; Good Friday; Memorial Day; Independence Day; Labor Day; Columbus Day; Veteran’s Day; Thanksgiving Day; and Christmas Day.On a holiday week, the cleaning service provider(subcontractor)shall schedule its site visit one business day prior to its normally scheduled visit. The awarded respondent shall carry inventory sufficientfor security technicians while uniform items are out for cleaning services in between pickup anddelivery. New orders shall not exceed a two-week delivery. The awarded respondent shall be responsible for the delivery of uniform itemsin first-class condition.Pricing shall include all deliverycharges.d.Cleaning Specifications:The awarded respondent shall direct a cleaning service provider to deliver and pick up all uniforms from the site twice a week. Cleaning service shall include dry cleaning, washing, and pressing. Each garment shall be inspected and pre-spotted before it goes into either the dry cleaning solution or washer. Each garment shall be individually pressed. Press heads shall be changed regularly to avoid pressing wrinkles. The chemicals shall be purified and changed regularly. The security technicians’ uniformgarments shall not be combined with heavily soiled and/or industrial work garments. No odor or residue shall remain on the garment after processing. The cleaner shall have a seamstress available who shall be responsible for minor repairs to the garments during the cleaning process. Pricing shall include all cleaningcharges. e.FittingsWithin two weeks ofcontract award, the awarded respondent shall provide a competent tailor orrepresentative to visit the SCPD totake and keep records of initial measurementsand sizingof current officers and any subsequent new officers, on-site at the SCPDofficein the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, Connecticut to ensure correct fitting, and also upon delivery to ensure correct fitting. Any improper fitting garments shall be promptly replaced at no charge.
